About the Examination
The Royal English Olympiad (REO) is a national talent examination that measures a student's command of the English language. It evaluates grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension and the ability to express ideas clearly in writing.
Designed to reward genuine language proficiency rather than memorised rules, the Olympiad helps students communicate with confidence — a skill that underpins success across every subject and in life beyond the classroom.
Who Can Participate
The REO is open to all school students from Class 1 to Class 10. Separate, age-appropriate question papers are set for each class, so every student is assessed against peers at the same level.
- Individual papers for each class from 1 to 10.
- Students register through their school as the nodal centre.
- No qualifying round — every enrolled student may appear.
